Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City: which has the livelier nightlife?
For flash and scale, Ho Chi Minh City; for a friendly, local feel, Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh City is like an outdoor music festival, with the booming music and neon of Bui Vien Street and night views from rooftop bars. Hanoi is like a summer festival: people sit on plastic stools on Ta Hien Street drinking bia hoi (from about 60 yen a glass). Hanoi tends to close earlier than Ho Chi Minh City.
